Almost Nice: Gourdon 2

This is a real tourist village packed with souvenir shops, gift shops and shops selling local produce. There are few inhabitants and most ofthe shops close between November and Easter.
In spite of this the village has real charm just look at the sun striking the local stone houses and those blue shutters. I often come to wander round braving the hair pin bends, dizzy drops and mad drivers.

What an idyllic way to spend a Sunday afternoon (once you've braved the hair pin bends, dizzy drops and mad drivers, of course ;-).

It's the kind of place where I like to wander, and the blue shutters and stone facade would pull me into the place.

Very pretty -- as others have already said, I too love the blue shutters.

The day my partner and I went to Biot we also went to Gourdon, by coach - driven by one of those mad drivers you mention. The weather was awful: it was very foggy and he couldn't see beyond a few yards. He laughed like a drain all through the hairy drive. Phew!

Those blue shutters and the blue balcony are indeed charming. Looks like a wonderful place to visit when the tourists are busy elsewhere.
