Almost Nice: Valbonne 2

Looking towards the Place Des Arcades from the main road that skirts the village. The photos worth enlarging.
The village does its best to remain a "real" village where people live and work and though the streets are filled with estate agents, restaurants and art galleries they all provide employment in an area that was once very poor.

Thank you for the support and encouragement for my local photos. They're not strictly Nice, I know, though we're only 30 minutes away. The villages all have their own charm and it's satisfying to be able to show them off a little. None of them could really provide enough material for a Daily Photo on its own.

oh Angela, this little city seems to be really charming. I like these two photos very much, the blue sky, the stone-floor.. it's so nice to know new places!

When I enlarge the photo I feel like I'm right there - walking the (slippery!) cobblestones, smelling the aromas from the Auberge Provencale, listening to the (French!) banter of the women...
But I refuse to visit the "Sad Gallery" - it might spoil my day in Valbonne ;-)

That's lovely. Did you spot the "SAD gallery" before taking the picture?

Angela, good shot. When I enlarged it, I noticed the manhole covers. They look like they'd be a worthy subject, too! The street is very inviting, and I'd bet that tourists (as well as the residents) love the place. Don't worry about taking photos that are not strictly Nice. Bending the rules now and then doesn't hurt. Sssh! Just don't tell everybody!!
