Almost Nice: Valbonne

I've moved 5 kilometres down the road today to show you Valbonne, an old village built on a grid pattern that always looks strange on maps.
The village is hugely attractive and is full of tourists all year round. The square here, the Place des Arcades is a lovely place to sit soaking up the sun and watching the world go by.
Bits of several movies and TV programmes have been shot here though the only one I can think of now is French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline and how Meg Ryan wouldn't give anyone her autograph...

Thank you so much for posting these. It's such a treat to view Nice and its surrounding cities through your photos. Keep up the great work!

Yes, the photo itself looks like a movie set!
(Is it wrong of me to admit that I liked "French Kiss?")

This is a great series. I love the pinks and blues there.

I just love all these little towns around Nice! Your phtos are beautiful!!!

Regarding Meg: I never understood why people want autographes. What in the world do they do with them? Plus, for me, asking for an autograph would be kind of degrading...as if they are gods...and the person asking is a peasant! LOL

wow those shimmering reflections are so cool on the dry cobblestones-I'm imagining how those reflections must just dance when the pavement is wet.
Absolutely beautiful photo!

Daniel: I had a look at your wedding photos...lovely and they bring back sweet memories..Glad you liked my photos.
Isabella: I liked it too even Kevin Kline's awful accent..
Tut Tut: yes, the pinks particularly are associated with this area. White is so hard on the eyes.Susan: normally I'd agree with you but these were kids and everyone else gave them..
Chris&Deb: they're magnificent but oh so slippy.
Dinah: Thanks.

What a lovely place. I've never been and it's not far. Another one to add to my 'must visit' list. Thanks for great photos, Angela.
