Almost Nice: Biot Glass 2

The last of my photos from the glass works. Attached to the Verrerie is a gallery exhibiting glass sculptures and glass objects made by designers. Some of them are fabulously beautiful with prices to match but, because, of the lights and reflections don't photograph well.
This piece embodies many of the qualities I look for in anything I choose for my home: pure clean lines and sparkling colours. I took the photo just before Christmas because I was out Christmas shopping and was looking for something special, a little different, and the piece is off centre in the photo because I wanted to capture the price for future reference...160 euros.

this is lovely - though with a small child and cat in the house I wouldn't dare buy anything like this!!

On a DP portal those looked like earrings...I guess they'd be a tad too heavy to hang from your ear ;-)

I, too, thought they were earring upon initial glance. The shape of the piece of art is clean and smooth. Great colours.

Lovely pics! And blog!

I used to live in Nice: moved there from Paris with my parents at the age of 14. One mad day, I decided I wanted to live somewhere else. I've been in London for 27 years and dream about Nice every day.

I know someone who works in glass, and you're right--it's difficult to photograph and get all the nuances. She just was accepted at a juried craft show, and she was afraid that her slides wouldn't show well enough to be accepted!

Thanks for calling by.

The photo is deceiving because the sculpture is bigger than it looks. At the time I thought it was quite expensive but not exorbitant.

I went back to the portal and you're right it does look like an earring. I don't know where your ear lobes would end up if you wore it.
