Troc

Every town here has a Troc, a place which buys what you don't want and sells it on. Visiting the shop is like walking into Aladdin's cave as you can see.
Of course we go in the hope of finding a lost Van Gogh but we're still looking. However, if you don't hear from me for a while you'll know I've found it and am on a Caribbean cruise.

Your excellent photograph and interesting narrative reminds me that my brother-in-law goes to a store in this country, "Goodwill" that accepts everything from clothing to furniture and automobiles, and then sells that in their stores located throughout the country. For some people it is a gold mine. I hope you find your Van Gogh or would you accept a Rembrandt?

Oh, no, that's no excuse - you can still blog from your yacht!

I find it hilarious (and so French) to have the prices still shown in francs as well (after 7 years of euro) ;-)

Gorbio's troc closed a few year's ago and more's the pity. I know of a couple in Nice and there's one - well sort of one - in Menton. These days I keep away cos I'm a hoarder. Great places tho. Super post, lovely pic.

Yes, you should be blogging a new topic called, "I'm fabulously rich and I'm on a yacht sipping champagne" if you find the Picasso.

That is a pretty urn in the photo.
