Vide Grenier

This is the follow up photo to the Troc one. It's a vide grenier, literally empty loft/attic, where you sell all those bargains you found at the troc for an inflated price because you've cleaned them up, polished them or painted them.
I just love them because every one's cheerful, the sun's shining and there's always the excitement of the hunt.

PS In case you think this is a pretty poor turn out, the stall's were spread over a large area. This was about an eighth of the whole.

Angela, what did you buy at the vide grenier? Or did you have a booth selling your stuff from the attic?

We have a flea market like this every Sunday. I haven't been to one in years. Maybe I will go sometime this month and take some photos.

Thanks for the idea.

Ming: I was selling the results of a huge spring clean and spent my small profit on a huge linen tablecloth with matching napkins. Mad, eh?
Husband was buying and found a circular slide rule that is worth more than he paid for it; if I can persuade him to part with it!

Olivier: il y en a souvent dans le coin parce que c'est une bonne facon de recuperer de l'argent pour les associations locales. Le vide grenier a Valbonne est toujours tres grand.

What fun! I remember those giant "flea markets" in NY and LA, but here in Naples people don't bother - they either deal with a consignment shop or just donate their "stuff" to local charities...

We still have what we call, "Flea Markets" here close to where I live but they are not so popular anymore and none were close to being as colorful as your photo suggests. Nice photo and narrative.

Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday and for your comments about my Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. I am into architecture today with the Brookville Community Theatre.

I can't resist a market. It would be worth coming from Australie, just for the fun.
The composition of your shot is wonderful, happy and bright. I love it.

It's not only fun to go to these markets, but it's loads of fun watching other people.

Oh, I think I should do the same, sell all the stuff I don't need any more.

A really lovely place. I love these kind of fairs with lots of people and lots of items to choose from...a well captured shot!
