14th July

It's the French national day today and there have been parties in full swing since last night. Here in Opio we had a barbecue followed by a DJ: in Valbonne there were fireworks followed by a Grand Bal in the square and from the smell my neighbours are having a barbecue lunch. Tonight the bigger towns will have their fireworks (and the dogs will spend another evening under the table!) and everywhere there are flags and flowers.

I wanted a photo for today that was truly French so here she is...and in her party paint too..

PS Thank you, Jilly and M. Benaut for your kind compliments..I'm beginning to love my new camera.

Happy "Quatorze Juillet", Angela. Nothing could be more French than a Deux Cheval ! I hope you celebrate to the fullest !
You certainly will enjoying life with the new appareil-photo, 'almost' as much as we will enjoy seeing the results.

(PS. the lens is precious. One should buy a UV filter to protect it. NEVER touch the glass. Get the shop to clean it for you and mount the filter permanently.
So sorry to be so boring !!! )

Love these cars! I was at a party last night and there were four 2CV's parked outside! Yours takes the cake though for color and design!

What a great car. Immediate smile when I saw it.
Hope you all have a great Bastille Day and "party till the cows come home" as we say down here!

Good shot.

Thank you for your kind comments on http://NewOrleansDailyPhoto.blogspot.com

This week I have a new batch of bird photos to show. Today, Momma zooms in between the trees, belly full and ready to feed her brood.

Happy quartorze juillet! (A bit late, I know!) . I’ve made a small tribute today, via an unexpected Australia-France friendship symbol, and a small quiz to help celebrate.
