Nice Jazz Festival

The Nice Jazz Festival takes place every July in Les Arenes in Cimiez. The gardens are fairly extensive and house Roman remains. We'll have a closer look another day..But they are the perfect place for an outdoor music festival because the audience isn't confined to seats. You can wander round listening to the various artists and picnic on the grass under the stars. We like to go but have to miss it this year. Can't think which night I'd have chosen, though..

What a program of entertainers! I am really, really envious! Are you going to see Diana Krall this evening? I like the shot too! Great angle, and the building in the background makes a neat backdrop for the blue banner!

They may need to rename the festival though. Some of those artistes (great as they are) can hardly be classed as jazz performers (e.g Joan Baez). Maybe I will get to attend it some year - I always seem to take my holidays in that area after the festival has ended )c:

With so many wonderful artists, I'm afraid I'd just have to pitch a tent and stay all week.
