Sunday Morning 3: The Solex

So there were these two guys walking towards me, one on a moped, the other dressed very formally and they'd been talking quite intensely. I figured their faces would make an interesting photo so I took it whereupon my husband asked if I'd got the moped in the shot.

Well, no, actually I liked their faces.
But it was a Solex...
And that's interesting because...?
Because a Solex is to mopeds what a Vespa is to scooters. Iconic.
Who knew?

As much as I'd like to add my two cents I don't dare for fear the bikini shots would be cancelled.

You've enlightened me. I've never heard of a Solex, and didn't realize that there was a difference between a moped and a scooter. What next?

Wayne- made me laugh.
Tut Tut - I agree new to me too.
Angela- The faces of course to concentrate on. Such another evocative image, I would love to eavesdrop.

deux très belles photos en b&w. Le solex, il fait parti de l'histoire de la France, j'en avais un vieux adolescent, c'etait pas terrible ;o)

They remind me characters of Pagnol's booksb (Trilogy). Maybe César and the man who sails the Ferry boat in Marseille.
Your husband is right, Solex is a Collection piece.

Umm... the walking man reminds me sooo much the communist leaders from Eastern Europe... actually he could be one of them, enjoying la bella Nissa for the rest of his wealthy and peaceful life. Anyway, wonderful shot!

Men! Give them a motorbike or a bikini - yesterday's photograph is just beautiful, Angela. Well done.

The man on the Solex is wearing a very curious hat. And I like that white "spot".
