Classic'Prom

The road closure I mentioned yesterday was caused by a 10 kilometre race, the Classic'Prom which means competitors run 5km on one side of the Promenade des Anglais then swing round and run the 5km back.
This year the race celebrated its 10th birthday with 5,000 men and women competing, more every year than the previous one. I'm not a runner but I reckon it must be a great experience to run between the sea and the palm trees with the winter sun on your back. There are worse ways to spend a Sunday morning..

I like all those events on the Promenade. The magnificent sea side Promenade that runs between luxury hotels, beautiful buildings and the beach is the perfect decor for al kind of activities, all in the shadow of the very typical feather duster palm trees.

Ahh yes. ONe of my daughter's is a marathon runner. She did not inherit that gene from moi!! Running is for the very fit. Walking a brisk pace is for the rest of us.
