Almost Nice: St Laurent du Var 4


For those who weren't too sure about the tajine I can offer you a choice...Le Calypso. It's opposite Le Palais de l'Orient and a bit to the left which means it's right on the sea.
I love having lunch here in the Spring; Summer's too hot and the evenings are too dark!


I can't show you a photo of the tajine but this is what I had at the Calypso: salmon with a little gratin dauphinoise and some grilled peppers.

Almost Nice: St Laurent du Var 3

While we're here why don't we stop for a bite to eat? We're definitely spoilt for choice...but
I'd choose Le Palais de l'Orient so I do hope you like North African food. I particularly like tajine, a stew cooked in pots shaped like those on the table. It's made from meat, usually lamb or chicken with fruit, lemons, apricots or plums and the taste after a few hours slow cooking is sublime....
