There's just something about their eyes that makes them look wicked, I think, though I can't really figure out how you can capture that in a carving.
Appropriately enough this is above the door of a bar on the Cours Saleya.

No, I've never been in; in fact, I didn't know it was there in spite of passing a hundred times.
It's an interesting piece of carving though. One day I'll go in and ask its history.

When I was in Nice, this was one of the hangouts that my French friends bought us to.
It's also where I met one of the cutest boys in France, named Sebastien =)
