Almost Nice: Antibes 2
This is the view looking in the opposite direction to yesterday's photo but on a different day! I took this last September though, and you'll have to trust me here, nothing much has changed since.
There's a lovely walk that skirts the ramparts of the old town past the Church and the Picasso Museum which you can see on the left. I took my daughter for a visit but we arrived too late and the museum was closing for a two hour lunch break...in the height of the tourist season.
This closing for lunch thing seems so last century but I guess it encourages people to eat in restaurants and since the introduction of the 35 hour working week also allows businesses to economise on their number of employees.

Anything less than a two hour lunch, especially with this breathtaking view, would be unthinkable!
Cheers to long lunches everywhere!
I do hope nothing has changed since September - the place is dreamy! I could stare at it all day...
Re: closing for lunch. We were shopping in a marché someplace in Provence when the hour struck (12?13?) and the vendor started to pack-up. Even though I was close to making a purchase (a tablecloth), he cared more about his lunch than profits. In a way, I admired that...
Angela, This is a breathtaking view. How jealous we all are who are landlocked most of the year!
la vue est superbe, une photo de reve, bravo
Antibes, c'est magnifique et ça se voit...

All I can say is, Wow! I hope you took yourselves on a two-hour lunch as well.
Aaaah, Nice !
I mean, beautiful !
Stunning photo, Angela. Looking at that and with this houseful of naughty (read very naughty) dogs, it reminds me not to get bogged down in the minutae of live and remember why we live here. Great pic.

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you liked the Antibes photos. It really is well worth a visit and though photos of the French riviera seem a little cliched, it truly has its sublimly beautiful moments.
Nathalie: nice pun:)
nice photo. Is 2 hour lunch break kind of fiesta like in Spain ?
