My World

This was definitely a Wednesday afternoon because the sailing schools are always out in force then with their brightly coloured sails.
In France all schools are closed on Wednesday afternoons leaving pupils to choose an activity to follow. There's lots of different things on offer but as we live so near the sea water sports are always popular.

There are lots of beautiful My World photos to see by following the links on the My World site.

Almost Nice: Antibes 2

This is the view looking in the opposite direction to yesterday's photo but on a different day! I took this last September though, and you'll have to trust me here, nothing much has changed since.
There's a lovely walk that skirts the ramparts of the old town past the Church and the Picasso Museum which you can see on the left. I took my daughter for a visit but we arrived too late and the museum was closing for a two hour lunch break...in the height of the tourist season.
This closing for lunch thing seems so last century but I guess it encourages people to eat in restaurants and since the introduction of the 35 hour working week also allows businesses to economise on their number of employees.

Almost Nice: Antibes

Thank you for your support and encouragement. I had wondered about posting some of my other photos and, yes, I have so many of them...The bulk of them were taken in this area so I'll just call this series Almost Nice!
Antibes is so far my favourite Riviera town. It has atmosphere, an old town, a real market, museums and the sea and along with the colour pink the sea is definitely up there on my personal list of favourite things.
I took this from the walk that skirts the old town. The light on the water caught my eye first but then I noticed the Hobie cats in the distance and then, and this makes me smile, the silhouette of the palms on the sky line.
