Breakfast

We have a family birthday today and are together for breakfast. A friend has brought pain au raisin and pain au sucre from a marvellous shop in Brussels called Le Pain Quotidien; I do believe Ming mentioned a shop with the same name in New York and we have one in Nice too. Bread goes global.
The marmalade's home made from oranges grown in the garden and organic, more from laziness than conviction, though. We've also got fresh orange juice and tea.
If you're in the neighbourhood drop in and share it with us.

Happy Birthday to the lucky one! I do like this little "honey house". And, Angela, don't worry about the expression "boire un coup", i'm sure your French friends didn't care!

Happy birthday, a bit late... sorry!

Looks yummy! I prefer to eat fresh raisin bread just straight, with nothing on it to compete with the flavor. :-)

The breads look so delicious. I love freshly baked bread with butter but to eat healthier, I now get 12-grain bread (more fibre). They taste somewhat dense and heavy but do not have the wonderful smell of butter. :-(
