One Way of Keeping Fit.

This seemed like a good way to kill several birds with one stone: walk the baby, keep the small boy amused, get some exercise and fresh air and take everyone home tired and ready for a siesta...
A report recently published tells us that merely taking the stairs instead of the lift or escalator will trim our waists and add extra time to our lives.
I don't know about you all but I really enjoyed Theme Day this time possibly because of the evidence of cooperation between sister cities on DP but more, I think, because my sense of humour was tickled by the incongruity of some of the thumbnails: New York sporting a picture of the Forbidden City for instance.

The photograph is very nice. I have not seen places, like this, where people can be in the street. I see what appears to be special marked lanes for the pedestrians on skates but it is new for me. It is also a nice photograph; and the family looks like they enjoy what they do.

This photo should put a smile on anyone's face - and the point about the exercise is well-taken!

What a nice plug for both exercise and theme days. I love the family outing photo...talk about multi-tasking!

Cool mom!

Maybe I should bring my running shoes to work and sprint rather than walk whenever I have to go to another building. ;)

I remember seeing that sort of scene in LA, California. I never thought of it happening in Nice!

I was at the beach yesterday and was (not) impressed by the laziness of the middle-aged crowd there. The main activity was sunbathing, with very occasional dipping in the Med. On an Australian beach you would have seen them surfing, ocean swimming, power walking, jogging, running etc. Seniors keep fit in Australia. I can't see the same happening here :-(

Somewhere I have rollerblades. It seems the last time I used them didn't "end" so well, if you take my meaning!

It does look fun though, so I should try again, maybe!

Very practical and funny to watch. I remember so well the first time I saw a lady doing so! :-)

We often see similar things over here--a man pushing a buggy as he runs, etc. Parents can be ingenious about getting their exercise.
