Carnival: The People

So while the floats are parading round Place Massena, everyone squirts that sticky string over, well, everyone else. I hate the stuff. Last time I came to carnival I was hit on the back and my pullover was ruined. This time a young girl got my camera just missing the lens. I prefer the confetti; it's harmless and pretty..

Fun for kids, not for the adults who clean it up! My kids always want Silly String (as it's called here) when they see it in the stores. On occassion, I'll give in.
Fun photo :)

Ah but she is so cute, I'd allow her one squirt.

What a great photo, Angela! Is Lent taken seriously in France?

Great and colorful shots from the carnival underneath also. :)

It's the same over there.
What surprised me is that a few hours later, streets cleaning have been done. It remained just a few "recalcitrant" confetti !
That's the reason why we went in Saint Agnès, then to the Annonciade, streering clear of the crowd.

Ugh. There's a new kind of sticky stuff that comes off easily (as we discovered last Christmas) but it stinks to high heavens! Petroleum-based :(

Such a cute photo though! You were kind to brave the stick string for us to share a photo!
