His Majesty The King

Here he is the King of the Carnival, wonderfully colourful and huge, though a voice inside my head keeps saying: yes, but what is he exactly? You can get an idea of the height by looking at the people standing by the barrier.
The corso carnavalesque makes its way through the Place Massena between stands of seats and down onto the Promenade des Anglais where there are more seating areas. There is, of course, a fee for the seats but I had a great view standing near the barrier and it was more fun being a part of the crowd..

He looks more like the jester than the king ;D

But such fun!

I'm expecting you to go up in that Big Wheel, Angela and photograph all this from way above!

So much colour. And doubtless massive crowds. Menton is the same at the moment with the Fete du Citron.

i like this photo and it would make a great poster to advertise the carnival. It evokes fun and laughter.

I was scared and then I laugh.

the King is impressive, but more cartoonlike, unlike the beautiful Queen.

Rather odd, but huge figure. Must have been great to attend the parade.

No, scary masks. I'd avoid this scene. Reminds me of clowns, and I don't do clowns.

He's obviously a very jolly king. That looks like a neat ferris wheel in the background.
