Sky Watch
The South of France has this reputation for being glitzy and glamorous. What many people don't realise is that there is a different side to the Riviera. In the hills behind the coast there all sorts of activities on offer. I've already mentioned the winter sports an hour's drive out of Nice. Now here's another example: paragliding. There are a couple of launch sites in the hills behind my house and on a clear Sunday I often see them spinning lazily in the breeze.
For a look at the skies around the world go to the Skywatch site and enjoy!

This actually made my stomach lurch it catches the action so well.
Yikes! I can't see me ever finding the courage to do that! But I can imagine the view is spectacular!
Great capture, this photo offers pretty much everything. Thanks for sharing. I added your great blog to my followers list so I can return often.
Cheers!

A neat capture for sky watch.
you really captured that spectacularly. The sky pops and the sail stands out.
I've realize on August, visiting Sospel behind Menton, that this area is so different from the seaside. Overthere I felt at the mountains, the river had stream, stones on the riverside, houses were different.
That's a good idea to make us realize that in Alpes-maritimes, there's the word "Alpes" that we forget too often.
But the sky remains the same. Blue Azur !
A fun activity and a great shot! :) Very good composition. Clear colors. Beautiful! :)
Lovely capture!
I have been to France once and went to Paris and absolutely loved it.
My goal is to go to the South of France, but not for the glitziness, but rather the natural beauty.
Love your photo with the paraglider.
Beautiful shot. I've always wanted to paraglide, it would be the closest thing to flying. My first time to your blog, all of your pictures are so beautiful.
Now that is a beautiful composition. Just the kind of sight I would enjoy firsthand. Thanks for bringing me so close.
I've been parasailing...once. It's VERY quiet and very disarming. This looks fabulous. Happy SWF!
Now this is something that I would love to try! Beautiful.
the rock and tree seem so Provençal to me...I've never been but from the Jean de Florette/Manon/My father's glory movies & Peter Mayle books (all of them), this is the type of scenery I'd think of.
Wonderful capture - love the bit o' color of the parasailer.
super capture!
Wonderful capture, nice swf shots.
Magnifique photo, il doit avoir une superbe vue d'en haut. La prochaine fois tu montes avec lui et tu prends des photos ;o)).
Hahahaha, Olivier...hors de question. Meme en regardant la photo j'ai du vertige!
I'm a fan of the daredevil sports. Paragliding may not be considered an extreme sport, but gives quite a good dose of Adrenalin.
Nice photo, especially the rocks.
Well, would you like to play The Sixth Photo Game?
That looks like fun
Lovely sky photo for SWF. I dont think I hae the guts to try out this sport...lol. Have a nice weekend, Angela.
I'm not a fan of daredevil sports but I do like to watch the daredevils. They have courage in enormouse amounts.
Lovely shot. I see them way above my house too but the best pics I get in Roquebrune-cap-Martin. I'd love to have a go - would you? I think you can have a go but strapped to an instructor, thank goodness...
I love the composition of this shot, the sky-diver and that beautiful rock.
Hi Angela! Beautiful sky! But is it so blue these days? ;))
